inflammation
As a lot of us have learned over the years, Turmeric contains Curcumin, a natural anti-inflammatory compound. We have also learned that the Curcumin content isn’t very high, ranging around 3%. So in order to consume enough Curcumin to be effective, it must be taken in supplement form to be effective at reducing inflammation. On top of this, because Curcumin is poorly absorbed into the system, it helps to consume other compounds like piperine, found in black pepper, to enhance the absorption of the Curcumin. Another way to enhance the absorption of Curcumin is to consume a fatty meal along with Turmeric because Curcumin is fat-soluble. All of that being said, how exactly should we be consuming our Turmeric medicinally?
